Are Selekt samples cleared for commercial use?

Selekt samples are sourced from CC0, public domain, and CC-BY contributors with verified upstream licenses. Every download includes a license certificate (PDF) showing the source, license type, and any attribution required. Samples ingested from less-authoritative sources (e.g. some Internet Archive uploads) are also fingerprint-screened against an industry-standard database of 100M+ commercial recordings — the same class of audio recognition used by Shazam, Deezer, and Musixmatch — and the result is recorded on the certificate. Producers can additionally run any audio — including a finished mix — through Selekt's copyright-check tool in the Workshop to get a signed audit log. The catalog is built for commercial use in beats, songs, films, games, and other creative projects — no additional licensing or royalties required for the samples themselves. (Selekt provides screening evidence, not legal clearance opinions; users remain responsible for confirming rights before commercial use.)

Every sample is processed through our AI pipeline which detects key, BPM, genre, mood, era, and instrumentation. We also perform automatic section analysis to identify intros, verses, choruses, and breaks, and stem separation to isolate vocals, drums, bass, and other elements.
