DMCA Policy
Last updated: March 18, 2026
Selekt Audio respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. We respond promptly to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe that content on Selekt Audio infringes your copyright, you can submit a takedown request using the process below.
1. Our Commitment to Copyright Compliance
Selekt Audio sources its sample library exclusively from public domain recordings (pre-1926 under the Music Modernization Act) and content released under CC0 (Creative Commons Zero) licenses. Every track in our library is verified through multiple layers:
- Legal verification: Pre-1926 recordings are legally public domain under US copyright law, regardless of original label or publisher.
- Source verification: Content is sourced only from institutionally verified collections (Internet Archive, Library of Congress, Musopen, Freesound).
- Audio fingerprinting: Tracks are scanned against a database of 150 million songs using acoustic fingerprinting technology to detect known copyrighted content before it enters our library.
Despite these safeguards, if copyrighted material has inadvertently been included, we will act swiftly to remove it upon proper notification.
2. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you are a copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of one, and you believe that content available on Selekt Audio infringes your copyright, please submit a written notification containing the following information:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, including information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material (e.g., a URL or sample title).
- Your contact information, including your name, address, telephone number, and an email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
