Custom Mix
This mixer is great for previewing and experimenting. For serious production, download your stems and import them into Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, or your DAW of choice.
No stems loaded yet
Custom Mix lets you stack stems from different samples to hear how they sound together — great for matching BPMs, testing keys, and previewing combinations before you commit.
Tip: Custom Mix is built for quick previewing — for serious production, drop your stems into your DAW (Ableton, FL Studio, Logic, etc.) for full control over tempo, pitch, and effects.
What is Custom Mix?
Custom Mix combines cleared sample stems and your own sounds into a new track, with a merged-provenance certificate covering every input. Layer stems from different samples, balance them in real time, then export one WAV and one signed certificate that traces where each piece came from.
How it works
- Load layers. Add stems from any sample's player, pull from your favorites, or bring in your own saved creations.
- Shape the blend. Solo, mute, and adjust volume on each layer to hear how they sit together — watch for the BPM-match hint.
- Combine. Merge every unmuted layer into one WAV with a certificate that chains the provenance of all of them, saved to your library.
Common use cases
- Auditioning combinations. Stack a drum stem, a bassline, and a vocal to test an idea before committing.
- Matching key and tempo. Hear whether two samples sit in the same pocket before you build around them.
- Merging your own creations. Pull beats you made in Stem Lab or Drum Kit and fold them into one track.
- One certificate for a layered work. Combine multiple cleared sources and walk away with a single provenance record.
- Quick stems for your DAW. Preview here, then download the parts and finish in Ableton, FL Studio, or Logic.
Frequently asked questions
What is Custom Mix?
Custom Mix is a browser mixer that lets you layer stems from different cleared samples — and your own saved creations — into a new track. Solo, mute, and balance each layer in real time, then combine everything into one WAV with a single certificate that traces the provenance of every input. It's built for fast auditioning; for deep production, drop the stems into your DAW.
How does the merged-provenance certificate work?
When you combine your layers, Custom Mix builds one certificate that chains the lineage of every input — each catalog sample's license and source, plus the provenance of any of your own creations you mixed in. The result is a single signed record covering the whole new work, saved to your library so you can hand it to a distributor, label, or sync supervisor as proof of how the piece was assembled.
Can I sell what I make in Custom Mix?
Yes. Every catalog stem you mix is sourced from public domain, CC0, or CC-BY material, so the combined work is free for commercial use. Keep any artist credit your certificate lists for CC-BY inputs. There are no added restrictions from Selekt on selling or distributing the track you create.
Should I mix here or in my DAW?
Custom Mix is great for previewing combinations — matching BPMs, testing keys, and hearing how stems sit together before you commit. For serious arrangement, time-stretching, pitch, and effects, download the individual stems and import them into Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, or your DAW of choice.
