Pitching, chopping, layering, and mixing can change what a recognition engine detects. The version you intend to release is the most useful version to screen because it shows how the sample sits inside the actual production.
Selekt checks back-to-back windows across the song instead of testing only the intro. That matters when the sampled section appears later, repeats in a hook, or changes across the arrangement.
The same licensed or royalty-free loop may appear inside a commercially released recording. Recognition can therefore identify that release even when your use of the underlying loop is permitted.
Treat the result as an investigation lead. Keep the loop license, purchase receipt, source URL, and the Selekt report together so you have context if a platform later flags the audio.
Fingerprint recognition is strongest when the uploaded audio retains recognizable characteristics of a cataloged master recording. Extreme time-stretching, re-performance, interpolation, short fragments, noise, or an absent reference recording can prevent a match.
