What kind of voice clips are available?

Selekt currently searches historical spoken recordings—not actors-for-hire, synthetic voices, or newly recorded character dialogue. We use historical exact-source audio because the archive source, publication record, and U.S. public-domain basis can be examined and documented before a recording is allowed to surface. That narrower catalog gives game developers a traceable starting point instead of an anonymous voice file.

Ways to use historical voice clips in a game

Use an excerpt before a boss battle, inside a period radio or public-address system, between chapters, under a menu, as environmental storytelling, or as the seed for a trailer. Search by the meaning of the moment rather than a filename. Quote Composer can then trim the exact bounds, arrange several speakers, set pauses and fades, and export a WAV with captions, provenance, and a separate Rights Receipt.

Source evidence is part of the asset

Every result links the original archive record and preserves the exact timing of the excerpt. Selekt confidently concludes that surfaced historical sound recordings pass its U.S. public-domain or CC0 gate. Separately protected words or music, privacy or publicity rights, and law outside the United States remain distinct questions, so review the source and receipt for your intended release. The receipt documents the process; it is not legal advice or a guarantee.
