Pitch-correction comparison
Selekt Hard Tune vs Antares AutoTune
Searching for a way to “auto tune a song” often means you want the vocal to snap into key, not that you need a particular plugin. Both options can serve that goal, but they are not the same product. Selekt is a browser tool for trying a sound on an upload; Antares AutoTune is a family of pitch-correction plugins built for DAW and live workflows. Here's how to choose honestly.
Choose Selekt when
You want to hear hard tuning on a vocal or finished song in your browser, compare it with the original, and export aligned audio files without setting up a DAW plugin.
Choose Antares when
You work inside a DAW, need real-time tuning while recording or mixing, or want AutoTune Pro's detailed manual editing and established plugin workflow.
What is actually different?
| Your decision | Selekt Hard Tune | Antares AutoTune |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | In your browser, on an uploaded recording | As a plugin in a compatible DAW or live audio setup |
| Starting material | An isolated vocal, or a finished song that Selekt can separate first after sign-in | A vocal or other suitable audio track routed through the plugin |
| How you shape the sound | Choose key and scale; adjust pitch snap, note lock, and held-note movement | Use key/scale and controls such as Retune Speed, Humanize, and Flex-Tune; exact controls vary by product |
| Detailed note editing | No manual note graph | AutoTune Pro has Graph Mode for more detailed edits |
| Hearing it in the song | Compare original and tuned vocal alone or against the unchanged instrumental | Monitor the plugin in your DAW's mix |
| Trying it | Prepared demo and short previews before a credit decision | Check Antares's current trial and purchase options on its site |
| Taking the result away | Full-length aligned WAV production pack for 0.5 credits | Record or export through your DAW workflow |

If you only have a finished song
You probably do not want pitch correction applied to the drums, bass, and instruments. On Selekt's Hard Tune page, the prepared full-song demo is ready to hear. For your own finished song, sign in so Selekt can separate the vocal from the instrumental, then tune only the vocal. You can listen to the tuned voice by itself or with the original instrumental before reviewing the download. A clean vocal-only file will usually be the better starting point when you have one.
If you already produce in a DAW with separate vocal tracks and need live monitoring or note-by-note control, Antares is the more fitting workflow. Selekt is not intended to reproduce Antares's algorithm or promise an identical sound—listen to both and choose by the result you actually want.
Want a lighter correction instead?
The fast, locked pitch changes associated with hard tuning are a creative choice, not the only way to fix a vocal. If you want the performance to stay closer to its original phrasing, start with natural vocal tuning. If you want more character and presets, open Tune & Character. Neither is an Antares product.
Common questions
Is Selekt Hard Tune the Antares AutoTune plugin?
No. Selekt Hard Tune is an independent browser-based pitch-correction tool. It is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Antares and does not run an Antares plugin.
Can I tune the vocal in a finished song without changing the beat?
With Selekt, you can bring a finished song and, after signing in, separate its vocal and instrumental. Tuning is applied to the vocal; you can preview it with the unchanged instrumental. An isolated vocal is still the best input when you have one.
Does Selekt replace AutoTune Pro for detailed vocal editing?
No. Antares AutoTune Pro offers a DAW workflow and Graph Mode for detailed note-by-note editing. Selekt Hard Tune is a simpler upload-and-preview workflow with key, scale, pitch snap, and note-lock controls. It does not offer a manual note graph or real-time plugin processing.
Can I hear Selekt Hard Tune before paying?
Yes. The prepared demo is playable without an account or upload. You can also audition short previews of your own audio before deciding to download. A full-length production pack costs 0.5 credits.
