From natural correction to deliberate pitch effects
A clean, isolated vocal gives the most precise result, but a finished song is enough to begin because Selekt can isolate its vocal and instrumental first. Confirm the musical key, then use snap speed to control how quickly pitch reaches a target and note lock to control correction strength. Held-note movement retains expression, while formant controls change vowel character independently of the melody.
How do I create the hard-tuned vocal sound?
Choose Classic Hard Tune, confirm the key and scale, and preview the result. Instant snap and full note lock create deliberate steps between pitches. Slides and changing notes make the effect more obvious than a perfectly steady note.
What does the formant control change?
Formants shape the vowel resonances of a voice. Lower settings produce a darker character and higher settings a smaller, brighter character, without requiring the melody to move. Extreme settings are intentionally synthetic.
Is this the Antares Auto-Tune plugin?
No. This is Selekt’s own browser vocal processor. Hard tuning describes the creative effect. It does not run or reproduce a licensed Antares plugin.
